Trusted Collaboration Across Domains

DMTC has a successful track record of collaboration with Defence and national security agencies across multiple domains. Uniquely positioned to bring together specialists from industry with leading research partners, DMTC harnesses collective expertise to deliver sovereign defence and national security outcomes. Our independence from government and lack of exclusive arrangements with industry partners enables a true whole-of-government, whole-of-industry approach to capability development.

Deep Research Networks

With a deep understanding of Australia’s research landscape, DMTC collaborates with more than 20 Australian universities and maintains strong, long-standing partnerships with publicly funded research agencies such as Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO) and the Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG).

Strategic IP Management

DMTC’s not-for-profit model and ownership of IP developed by project teams aligns with our mission to maximise beneficial outcomes to both government customers and industrial partners. IP is strategically deployed to support adoption and commercialisation, often via tailored pathways that enable bespoke technology applications. A focus on vendor and platform-agnostic solutions ensures wide-ranging benefits to all partners pursuing market opportunities related to specific, discrete elements of the same underpinning technology.

Collaborative R&D Advantage

DMTC brings together partner organisations that benefit from co-investment in joint R&D activities. Working together enables faster, more effective technology and capability development at lower cost, compared to pursuing those same activities independently.
