Annual Report 2025
Operating at the nexus of demanding government customers, a committed and innovative industrial base, and a brilliant research sector is not a task for the novice or the faint-hearted. It is a specialist capability in its own right, as DMTC knows all too well.
DMTC’s purpose is perhaps best summarised as deploying collaboration as a force-multiplier, to shepherd technology through the most difficult phases of its development and to enhance industrial pathways for the defence and national security sectors.
DMTC sees a number of areas in which our model can be of particular utility, supporting Defence in meaningfully prosecuting and promoting its focus on minimum viable capability and in putting equipment in the hands of operators and end-users at speed.
Innovation in the design and development of new equipment platforms is vital, but so too is innovation in the equally important (but often less heralded) considerations around technology refresh, sustainment and inventory resupply.
Industry engagement is critical but should never be confused with, or accepted as a proxy for, industry uplift.
In this regard, I am pleased that DMTC’s resolute focus on charting the course to effectively bridge and cross capability gaps, is being matched by a notable uptick in engagement across Defence around key areas where DMTC’s experience, expertise and track record will be leveraged.
The sovereign capability dividend from this focus on tangible industry uplift is abundantly clear in the work of our team and our partners, and on the pages of this Annual Report.
I commend the Report to you.
