Sector Intelligence

DMTC draws on its in-house expertise and established network of academic, industry and government collaborators to deliver independent capability mapping and sector intelligence products. These activities usually involve evaluating the technical merit, feasibility and commercial potential of both nascent and extant innovations in industrial capability. This review work has both benchmarking elements (suitably anonymised, where necessary) and road mapping of maturity pathways. It also contributes to a more complete picture of the quality and performance of Australian industrial base more generally.

DMTC’s assessments support customers across government to make evidence-based investment decisions by evaluating the merit and depth of capabilities proposed by prime contractors, Original Equipment Manufacturers, and small-to-medium-sized enterprises within their supply chains. Here, DMTC plays an important role in providing government with unbiased views and key inputs necessary to support the technical de-risking of industrial capabilities, and development of industrial uplift, acquisition or capability development programs.
